Guilt Free Brownies

My Homemade Sweet Potato Brownies with Polenta, Honey, Dates, Cocoa and a selection of yummy nuts are defintely the nearest to guilt free one can get!

Simply blend sweet potatoes and 15 large dates together after steaming the 2 large sweet potatoes first. Mix this with 1/2 a cup of polenta, 5 table spoons of cocoa powder (I used Bournville because its 100%), a pinch of salt and 3 table spoons of honey. Add some nuts if you want.

Pop all of that in the oven at 180degrees for 20mins and enjoy! The recipe works with chickpeas instead of sweet potato, with maple syrup instead of honey and you can always choose to make them without the potenta if that isn’t taking your fancy, or simply substitute it for something else, such as almond flour. These brownies can be entirely of your own creation! I am yet to try the other combinations…
